2008 Haywood Garden Tour

Seven gardens are featured this year. Tickets are $10 and are available at: Deja View Gallery (34 N. Main St.), and the County Extension Office (589 Raccoon Rd.). The tour is sponsored by the Haywood County Extension Master Gardeners. For further information call 456-3575.

Make - A - Wish Event

Autumn Care is proud to present Angie Toomey & Friends Variety Show to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Central & Western NC Chapter. The show and lunch are at Carolina Nights Dinner Theatre in Maggie Valley. Total cost is $25. NC Senator Joe Sam Queen will emcee. Saturday 6/28 > WebKinz Day: lots of games and activities. Free WebKinz with each $10 purchase as supplies last.

Monday 6/30 > Create a great project with the Foam Craft Workshop by Creativity for Kids by Faber-Castell. Well-suited for ages 7 and older. $5 fee per child for this event. Class limited to 12 children.

Thursday 7/3 > Art After Dark for Kids, available for parents who are participating in Art After Dark on Main Street. Available for children ages 5 - 12; $5 per child fee. Art and craft activities to be offered.

Parade of Homes Entry Deadline is Friday

Home Builders Association of Haywood County

The deadline for the 2008 HBA Parade of Homes is June 27, 2008. Please call 828-454-0221, or click here for registration and information. This is a great opportunity for builders and developers to showcase their model homes. The Parade will take place during the peak of our Fall colors season: October 24 - 26, 2008.

 

Carolina Nights Dinner Theater

Carolina Nights Dinner Theater is now presenting a new and updated production, "SOUND OFF! A MUSICAL SALUTE TO THE USO," which chronicles the roles of the USO during the three major wars of our time, and presented a delightful mix of some of the music that was so popular during those wars. In addition, we have added a segment that reflects the Iraq War. Shows are every Saturday night through December, and various days during the week. Call (828) 926-8822 for more information and/or reservations.

 

Goodwill Industries Computer Recycling Program

Reconnect is a partnership between Dell Inc. and Goodwill Industries.  It is a comprehensive electronics recovery, reuse and environmentally responsible recycling opportunity for businesses and consumers. Reconnect provides free computer recycling that is both good for the environment and an easy and free way to dispose of unwanted computers, peripherals, and accessories. We offer bulk pick-up service for businesses.  All brands and conditions of equipment are accepted.

Electronic waste is the world’s fastest growing waste problem. 

One of the goals of Reconnect is to divert five million pounds

of used computer equipment from local landfills each year.  We are seeking help in publicizing this free, tax deductible service.
